My maternal 2nd great grandfather and his second wife, Mary Kelly, her two sons, William and Thomas all lived here.

Thomas Daniels, his wife Elizabeth Grason (and various spellings) and family were living here in the 1841 Census.  It is listed as Lomas Buildings, Boad St Entry, Manchester.

Family lore is that Robert Stewart, b ca 1832 in Lancaster Cty, PA, built a raft in Peach Bottom and sailed his family down to Conowingo, Cecil Cty, MD. This has not been verified.    

My 3rd great grandfather built the house on this property.  The street number has changed many times.  Four generations of my family lived here.   The house is now in the section called "Fabric Row"  Archibald Clymer was a tailor when he built the house in 1828. The family lived there until about 1917. It is now a leather shop with apartments on the upper floors.

I was washing my son's diapers when the news came on the TV that ELVIS was dead!!  I was devastated!

Arriving at the Port of Philadelphia were: Samuel McElvenny Susan Moran McElvenny Children:  Sarah, James They arrived in Philadelphia from Londonderry, Northern Ireland on this date on the ship Oneco.

I do not have the exact date that they arrived in the Pittsburgh area, these are just approximations, same with moving from Reserve,Tnshp. At the time that they lived in Reserve Tnsp, the members of the household were: Samuel McElvenny--occupation was a Chandler--candle/soap maker. Susan Moran McElvenny Children:  Sarah, James, Samuel, William David

 Dottie is my childhood friend, I visited her once in Arkansas, possibly it was Little Rock.  The date was Sept. 1974 and I was on my way west. I have lost her address and have not heard from her in years.  I would dearly love to hear from her again. She is from Colwyn, Pennsylvania. I am from Drexel Hill, PA and she knew me as "Kit". Her husbands name is John, he worked for and insurance company, and I think she had three children when I was there visiting. If anyone in Arkansas knows where she moved, I would appreciate hearing from you.

Robert STEWART, who married Nancy McCULLOUGH (possibly from Port Deposit), and his children moved here from Peach Bottom,  Lancaster County, PA, ca 1863. His daughter, Mary Elizabeth-known as Lizzie-married John McVey from the Conowingo area. Their daughter, Nancy, a twin, was my fraternal Grandmother.  They are also connected to the MacDougal's of Port Deposit. If any of Robert's many descendants are still around, please let me know.

Dottie SHEEHAN is my childhood friend from Colwyn, PA.  Her mother's name was Dottie MORSE, and they lived with her Grandmother, also a Morse.  She had a very noisy green Parrot.  She would have graduated high school, probably Darby, around 1962. The last time I saw Dottie was in Arkansas where her husband had been transferred.  He worked for an insurance company.  This was approximately Sept, 1974. I would dearly love to hear from her again.  I miss her. If anyone knows where she is, please drop me a line. I lived in Drexel Hill, PA., growing up and she knew me as "Kit".  Our mother's went to school together.
